Environmental Responsibility
As a Nazdar customer, we want you to be informed of the latest environmental
regulations concerning the proper handling and care of all of our products.
Environmental regulations provide guidance to screen printers in many areas,
including hazardous waste disposal, reporting requirements, and Volatile
Organic Compound (VOC) calculations.
COMMON REGULATORY REPORTS FOR PRINTERS
Some common reports that may be required for printers:
Hazardous Waste Reports:
Required if you are a large quantity generator of hazardous waste What to
file: a biennial waste generation report (depending on what state you operate
in, you may be required to file quarterly or yearly hazardous waste generation
reports.)
SARA Title III Section 312 Inventory Report:
Required if you store hazardous substances in quantities greater than 10,000
lbs at any ONE time during a calendar year.
What To Report:
- Type
- Amount
- Hazard of the material(s)
A hazardous material is defined as any material that is required to have
a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
Federal regulations require this report to be filed with:
- State emergency response commission
- Local emergency planning committee
- Your local fire department
SARA Title III Section 313 Toxic Chemical Release Inventory:
Required if your facility meets ALL of the following criteria: (to be filed
by owners and operators)
- The facility has 10 or more full-time employees.
- The facility is included in Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) Codes 20 through 39.
- The facility manufactures, processes or otherwise
uses any listed toxic chemicals in quantities greater than the established
threshold in the course of a calendar year.
