APPLICATION AND USESubstratesPressure sensitive vinyl, top coated and print treated polyester, BOPP films, polyethylene, polystyrene, coated paper & board, PETG, PVC shrink, direct thermal. AniloxThe 6800 Series UV Flexo Metallic Inks colors are formulated to print using an anilox with a cell volume of at least 4.0 BCM, and line count of less than 400 lines per inch. Plates6800 Series UV LED Flexo Metallic Ink is compatible with most UV Flexo plates currently on the market. Printing6800 Series UV LED Flexo Metallic Ink can be affected by stray UV light in and around a printing facility. Be aware of skylights, windows and overhead lights curing the ink. Light filters are recommended. Keep ink containers covered when not in use. OverprintabilityThe leafing pigments used in 6800 Series UV LED Flexo Metallic Ink are not ideal for overprinting as the pigment comes to the liquid/air interface of the wet ink film. This surface can be difficult to get ink and varnish to trap onto and adhere to. Overprintability should be tested prior to production. To achieve maximum metallic effect, varnishing should be avoided. For jobs that require a protective overprint varnish, keeping the film weight to a minimum will result in the least impact on metallic effect. Clean UpUse NWC10 EZ Cleaner. Storage and Handling6800 Series UV LED Flexo Metallic Ink is formulated to be press ready. Thoroughly mix the ink prior to printing. Maintain ink temperature at 65°-90°F (18°-32°C) for optimum print and cure performance. To prevent premature cure or gelling, keep away from heat, flame and direct light sources. Proper personal protection equipment is required when handling this material. Please consult SDS for details on proper handling of this material. Ink taken from the press should not be returned to the original container; store separately to avoid contaminating unused ink. Shelf StabilityThe 6800 Series UV Flexo Metallic Ink Series in unopened containers have 6 months shelf life. Although usable after 6 months, some loss of brilliance may occur.
