Nazdar 770 Series UV-LED Inkjet Ink

Nazdar 770 Series Inks are a general graphics inks designed for heated medium viscosity printheads. This series uses low odor components and can cure by both UV and LED.

v1.0 EN

Primary Features & Substrates

Features

  • Used in Kyocera KJ4A
  • Chemistry uses lower odor components
  • Curable by UV (Hg), D bulb (Fe) and LED
  • Market acceptable idle time before purge/wipe
  • Print speed up to 1.6 m/min

Substrates

  • Reinforced vinyl banner, pressure sensitive vinyl, and window cling
  • Polystyrene
  • Flexible PVC
  • Clear & white PET
  • Foamboard
  • Roll polycarbonate
  • Flexible backlit media

Adhesion should always be tested as adhesion does depend upon curing conditions, age and manufacturer of substrate.

Particle Size

All batches of ink are formulated and tested to have an average particle size under 1 micron.

Surface Tension

Surface Tension is measured by a DuNouy Ring device at 25° C. The surface tension naturally varies within our min/max tolerances from color to color.

  • Min: 21 mN/m
  • Max: 23.5 mN/m

Curing Parameters

These guidelines are intended only as a starting point for determining cure parameters, which must be determined under actual production conditions."Undercuring" the ink may result in poor adhesion, lower block resistance, and higher residual odor.

LWU770 series ink cures when exposed to conventional UV and/or LED curing unit(s).

Requirements for LED:

  • 6 W/cm2 or higher
  • 395 nanometer wavelength

Requirements for Conventional UV:

  • Mercury (Hg) bulb
  • Minimum (per pass) 800 mW/cm2

Note: many factors dictate cure i.e.; dot size, ink coverage, pass count, speed and color management.

Viscosity

Viscosity requirements meet the specification of medium viscosity printheads operating in a range of 6 - 8 cPs, measured at 450C.

Ink Handling

All personnel handling these products must wear gloves and eye protection. Clean up all spills immediately. If ink does come in contact with skin, wash the affected area with soap and water (do not use solvent or flush solution). Consult the Nazdar® LWU770 Safety Data Sheet for further instructions and warnings.

Clean Up

For clean-up of ink spills use the Nazdar 7001 UV Maintenance Fluid. Avoid contact with skin.

Environmental Operating Parameters

Temperature:

  • 66 ° F - 80 ° F [19 ° C - 27 ° C]

Humidity:

  • Optimum: 40% - 60% (non-condensing)
  • Operational: 30% - 70% (non-condensing)

Storage/Shelf Life

Store ink and flush solutions at 18° - 27° C (65° - 80° F). If stored at a different temperature, the ink should be allowed to reach room temperature before calibration or printing. The shelf life of this product is 12 months from the date of manufacture when stored under prescribed conditions.

Outdoor Durability

LWU770 colors are formulated to provide 2 years outdoor durability when mounted vertically in the Central U.S.A. Outdoor durability cannot be specified exactly. Slight color change and loss of gloss should be expected. Variables affecting a printed part's durability include:

  • Ink film thickness and degree of curing
  • Substrate type and age
  • Mounting angle and directional orientation
  • Geographical location
  • Excessive abrasion
  • Non‐clear coated prints exhibit more color change and loss of gloss
