Description

6400 Offset Paper Series Ink was specifically formulated for Tag and Label printing. The 6400 has excellent print quality especially at high speeds. The 6400 inks have excellent color strength, curing, adhesion and scratch resistance.

Substrates

6400 UV Offset Series is suitable for a variety of paper substrates such as: Gloss, Semi-gloss, Cast gloss, Bond, Uncoated and folding carton SBS, SUS and CCNB. Also works on some films.

Plates/Blankets

6400 UV Offset Series is compatible with UV Offset plates and blankets on the market.

Printing

6400 UV Offset Series can be printed over Rotary Screen 8376 No-Sil Combination White, 83400's and over 9301 Flexo Opaque White (See the 8300 and 9300 Series technical data sheets for more information).

Maintain ink temperature at 65°-90°F (18°- 32°C) for optimum print and cure performance. Pretest to determine optimum printing performance for each set of inks, substrate, press, curing variables/conditions and any post printing processes.

The 6400 UV Offset Series can be affected by stray UV light in and around a printing facility. Be aware of skylights, windows and overhead lights curing the ink. Light filters are recommended. Keep ink containers covered when not in use.

Cure Parameters

6400 UV Offset Series ink cures at web speeds up to 1000 fpm when exposed to a medium pressure mercury vapor lamp set at 300 - 600 watts per inch

GENERAL INFORMATION

Ink Handling

Direct skin contact to UV inks is the primary route of exposure and irritation. Therefore, it is recommended that all personnel handling UV products wear gloves and barrier cream to prevent direct skin contact. Safety glasses are suggested in areas where ink may be splashed. If ink does come in contact with skin, wipe ink off with a clean, dry cloth (do not use solvent or reducer). Wash the affected area with soap and water. Consult the 6400 UV Offset Series Safety Data Sheet for further instructions and warnings.

The 6400 UV Offset Series ink is a one-part, 100% solids UV-curable offset printing ink and does not contain HDODA or Benzophenone.

Trapping

The 6400 UV Offset inks are formulated for tack stepping 14-17@ 800rpm and can be wet trapped.

Standard Printing White

The 6401 Opaque White has excellent opacity and can be used as first down or where opacity is critical when trapping other colors.

Base Colors

The 6400 UV Offset Base Series are designed to be high strength. The base colors can be mixed together to achieve an unlimited number of strong vibrant colors.
