GARDEN GROVE, CA–– With its commitment to the UN 17 Sustainability goals, Nazdar has completed a successful solar project for one of its main North American distribution centers in Garden Grove, CA. California has been leading the way in solar installations, and Nazdar was honored to participate in the solar program.
“Using solar energy has not only led us to increase our efficiency as a facility, but also has allowed us to become a more sustainable facility in an economical way. It’s a win on all fronts” - Bret Tuchman, Nazdar Director Warehouse Operations and Distributions.
Starting in 2023, the initial scope began with assessing different types of solar systems and ultimately installed 142 panels on their roof. The project, which was completed in the first quarter of 2024 also involved replacing the building's air conditioning units and reroofing. The solar team provided software to monitor the productivity of the panels, and the company has already seen significant energy savings and credits from their energy company, Southern California Edison. The solar system is estimated to produce 80,000 kilowatts per year, equivalent to reducing carbon emissions by 75,000 pounds. Nazdar is proud to be reducing their carbon footprint and contributing to the growth of solar energy.
