Celebrating its 10th anniversary, FESPA Digital returned to Amsterdam, and saw over 16,000 visitors and a record breaking number of sales. The show took place from March 8-11 at the Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre. Over the four day event, over 450 exhibitors from 120 countries made sales, collected leads, and showcased a wide variety of new products.
The event included the World Wrap Masters Series, during which expert wrappers from around the world competed for the title of World Wrap Master 2016. Competitors applied vinyl to cars, as well as other more unusual objects, including clogs and superhero items. Jim Miller, owner of Millers Decals, USA, won the prestigious title, after first being named the European Wrap Master and then edging out competition in the World Series final battle.

Several printing equipment manufacturers hailed the show as a particular success for their companies. Mimaki declared this year's FESPA Digital to be its "best ever," reporting to have sold more than 30 of its 3.2m-wide UJV55-320 LED-UV printers in just the first two days of the show. Durst also unveiled its new water technology dye-sublimation printer, suitable for soft signage and fabric applications.
Nazdar showcased several of its next-generation inks at the show, including the 203 and 130 series for the Wide Format Solvent market, and 705 for the UV inkjet market. All three products are plug and play alternatives to OEM inks, providing consumers with cheaper alternatives without sacrificing quality. Nazdar focused its dye sublimation promotion on its TX650 inks, which are water-based and suitable for a wide variety of applications, from sportswear garments to outdoor signage.
Next year's FESPA Digital will take place in Hamburg, Germany. For more information on FESPA Digital 2017 and other FESPA events, visit www.fespa.com.
